The same seems to hold true in comics. It seems when there’s a hero, someone needs to create a villain that’s their opposite.

So what is our fascination with villains? That’s the main question behind the newest Blu-Ray from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment: NECESSARY EVIL: SUPER-VILLAINS OF DC COMICS.

This was truly an interesting examination of villains of the DC Universe. This wasn’t just a bunch of writers, artists, and editors. They also had psychologists, historians, and even film directors. This gave it a boarder view of villainy.

Getting into the psyche and motivation of some of these villains just really made it interesting.

Warner did a great job on this documentary. They got Christopher Lee to narrate it. This is a man that spent most of his acting career as a villain. This was the perfect choice. I honestly don’t think anyone else would have helped the tone of this film.

I do have to admit that some of the histories of the characters weren’t 100% correct, but I was still enthralled by the finished product.

It’s such a simple concept, but it was just brought together so well.

So, if you want to understand the villains of DC Universe better, then pick up NECESSARY EVIL: SUPER-VILLAINS OF DC COMICS.

NECESSARY EVIL: SUPER-VILLAINS OF DC COMICS will be available on October 25.
