Necessary_Evil-SuperVillains_of_DC_ComicsIt seems like there’s always an opposite for something. Yin and yang. Heads or tails. Positive and negative.

The same seems to hold true in comics. It seems when there’s a hero, someone needs to create a villain that’s their opposite.

So what is our fascination with villains? That’s the main question behind the newest Blu-Ray from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment: NECESSARY EVIL: SUPER-VILLAINS OF DC COMICS.

This was truly an interesting examination of villains of the DC Universe. This wasn’t just a bunch of writers, artists, and editors. They also had psychologists, historians, and even film directors. This gave it a boarder view of villainy.

Getting into the psyche and motivation of some of these villains just really made it interesting.

Warner did a great job on this documentary. They got Christopher Lee to narrate it. This is a man that spent most of his acting career as a villain. This was the perfect choice. I honestly don’t think anyone else would have helped the tone of this film.

I do have to admit that some of the histories of the characters weren’t 100% correct, but I was still enthralled by the finished product.

It’s such a simple concept, but it was just brought together so well.

So, if you want to understand the villains of DC Universe better, then pick up NECESSARY EVIL: SUPER-VILLAINS OF DC COMICS.

NECESSARY EVIL: SUPER-VILLAINS OF DC COMICS will be available on October 25.

    1. The one that really stands out is actor Scott Porter talking about Professor Zoom. He kept confusing Eobard Thawne with Hunter Zolomon. It was obvious to me that he really didn’t know that much about the character. But there was a passion in his voice about Professor Zoom.
