the jman sayeth: I Have a Problem with Lego Minifigures

I’m telling you, ever since going to that Lego show a few weeks ago, I’ve really developed a problem with Lego minifigures.

“Hi everyone.  My name is your friendly neighborhood jman.  And I’m a legominifigurecollectoroholic.”

“Hi my friendly neighborhood jman.”

I’m telling you, ever since going to that Lego show a few weeks ago, I’ve really developed a problem with Lego minifigures.  I just can’t stop buying them!  It’s like that show released a demon inside of me.  That won’t be satisfied until I’ve bought ever last minifigure…evAH!

Which is kinda weird, because, I’ve bought a minifigure here and there on ebay in the past.  But, I always felt the prices for them were a bit…high.  Even the blind bags Lego sells…$3.99. I don’t know.  It seems a bit high for those couple pieces of plastic.

Everything is relative, I guess.

After seeing the prices of the figures at that Lego Brickfest, and the people willingly…nah, happily paying 6, 7, 8…15 bucks for a minifigure?  Well…that was definitely an eye opener.

spider copterActually, just buying the minifigure, instead of a whole set, kinda make sense.  At times.   Take for example the Spider-Man/Green Goblin set, Spider-Helicopter Rescue.  It retails for $44.99.  Which, is a bit much.  Considering, I don’t really need another Lego helicopter, or another Spider-Man figure for that matter.  I don’t care very much about a Power Man figure, either, I just want the Goblin/glider and MJ.

Well…the big man upstairs sent down the idear, I went on ebay and ended up getting MJ for 8 bucks (yes, including shipping).  In the meantime, I’ve been watching the Goblin/glider.  He’s a bit high right now.  Around 20 bucks.  It’s a bit much.  I’m looking to pay about 15.  So, all told, for about half the price of the set, I got the figures I wanted.  Sure, mathematically it may make more sense just to buy the set, but who needs all that additional crap?!?!

With all that being said, here are all the figures I’ve bought in the last 4 weeks:

Not to mention Bacta bath Luke, Red from the Lone Ranger and Nelson (that I haven’t received yet).

Damnit!  I really do have a problem!

Don’t forget to check out the brand new Almost Internet Famous Internet “mini” show!  It’s the show everyone’s talking about.  If they saw it…
