The “Ultimate Cosplayer” holds first annual customizer contest
Captain Action Enterprises, licensors of the popular Captain Action line, are excited to announce the finale of the Captain Action 1/6th scale Custom Action Figure Contest, to be held during an “American Idol” style judging panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
“As the original superhero action figure, and the “ultimate cosplayer”, we felt that there was no one more appropriate than Captain Action to host this contest and provide an opportunity for creative fans to display their talent”, said Ed Catto of Captain Action Enterprises, LLC.
The Contest Finale is scheduled for the panel on Thursday, June 24, from 3:30 to 4:30 in Room 24ABC at the San Diego Comic-Con
Midtown Comics is sponsoring the Grand Prize: a $500 Action-Packed Prize Pack, including Captain Action merchandise, comics and collectibles. Five (5) First Prize winners will be awarded the new Codename: Action collected edition, courtesy of Dynamite Entertainment. Just released, it features the first five issues of the recent series by Chris Roberson and Jonathan Lau.
An All-Star Panel of Judges will review the custom figure entries and select the winners. Evaluations will be judged upon creativity, craftsmanship, originality and professionalism. Judges include:

The contest finale will be hosted by actor Wally Wingert, most recently of the Tonight Show and Avengers: Earth Mightiest Heroes.

A brief screening of the Captain Action Animated Series “sizzle reel” and several new product announcements will serve as a prelude to the judging.
