dc collectibles supergirl bombshellSubmitted for your viewing pleasure today is DC Collectibles 2nd release from their Bombshells line, Supergirl.

Ever since the release (and subsequent sell out) of the Harley Quinn statue (check out my video review of the Harley Quinn statue below), the Bombshells line has really been taking off on the secondary market, with prices for Supergirl going upwards of 200 dollars.

That’s all well and good.  But, how does Supergirl stack up against the other Bombshells statues?  Well, truthfully…she’s just ok.  When compared to the Harley Quinn statue, Supergirl unfortunately is left in the dust.

Now, that’s not to say she’s not worth it or anything.  I think that’s more of a testament to how good of a statue Harley is.

My biggest problem with Supergirl is her face.  It may just be me, but it seems a bit…off.  I think it’s something about her eyes.  They seem just a little too big for the sculpt of her head.  And the black eyeliner only seems to accentuate the problem.

That aside (if you can but that aside) the statue is not bad at all.  Supergirl’s in a dynamic sort of flying/landing pose, which is pretty nice (unlike the Poison Ivy Bombshell).  The design of her costume is cool, fitting in with that whole Bombshells  1940’s feel.  And there’s some really nice detailing in her costume and gloves, as well.dc collectibles supergirl bombshel

Call me picky (or worse) but, I just can’t seem to get over the look of her face.

If you can get beyond all that, and can find her at retail, Supergirl may be the one for you.  If you’re on the fence, and are totally regretting not getting the Harley Quinn Bombshell, I say save your monies and get the Harley Quinn Bombshells Christmas statue instead.  It’ll be out just in time for Christmas 2014.

And here’s hoping DC Collectibles keeps on capitalizing on the Bombshells line with some action figure/sixth scale figures for 2015.  Man!  That’d be so awesome!
