Gotta be honest, mixed feelings about this comic but for anyone trans or gender confused then it really is a must read!

First read through and there were parts I just didn’t get while others screamed at me for how close I related to it. Once I read through a second time however it all fitted together and an understanding seemed to wash over me. It follows the story of a triplet, done from birth and growing up as they discover that they don’t identify with the gender that they were born. I can only apologise if I use the wrong pronouns etc will try and keep it neutral though.

The comic is made up of a series of seperate stories tackling some pretty big social issues like being gay, coming out to your parents, social akwardness and social anxiety with an overlying story running throughout.  The writer Erin whose life it follows must be around my age as some of the anxieties and ideas stem from the exact same point as mine have, with Stand By Me featuring alongside Candyman and Freddie Krugers claw.

My mixed feelings come from the fact that I want to say its a really brave comic and must have been pretty cathartic to write but dont want to seem patronising. Its not a laugh out loud comic but there are some genuine moments of humour where the situation is captured so perfectly you cant help but smile. Iv never seen the emotions and struggles of a transgender person portrayed like this but it was a real eyeopener and I am so glad I had the chance to read this
