Zach Synder continually manages to ruin the DC Comics films.

Well, this past weekend, Warner Bros Pictures released the trailer for the much anticipated Justice League film. But we are reminded how much Zach Synder just sucks as a director.

Here’s a look at the train wreck:

Yeah, I’ve got no freaking clue what’s going on here. Most of it is so underlit it’s not even funny. Don’t think so?

Here’s a comparison frame from what Synder shot, and next to it is what I was able to light more properly.

Now, it’s still not properly lit in what I did as I did a quick job, but even so, you can see a huge improvement. Synder doesn’t like light. Probably to hide the fact that he’s all flash and no substance.

He’s already ruined Watchmen, and Man of Steel and Batman v Superman were both total messes. I honestly can’t understand why Warner Bros keeps allowing him to direct these film, never mind the fact of the horrible tone he’s set. It’s already affected Suicide Squad and I don’t have my hopes up for Wonder Woman. Synder has just ruined the DC Cinematic Universe.

Of course, any DC fanboy will blindly defend this. Ridiculous that they can’t remove themselves from the fanboy aspect and look at these films subjectively.

Look, I’m not asking the DCCU to look like Marvel films, but for God sakes, hire a director who understands lighting. Marvel has had their fair share of movies that sucked: Thor The Dark World, Iron Man 3, and even Age of Ultron. But at least I could see what the hell was going on in these films. I wasn’t squinting to see through the darkness.

Synder digitally darkens the film in post. I just hope to God that some high up at Warner Bros. is reading this and orders the light to be re-added to it. Since it’s edited digitally, you can still fix the film.

I don’t want these films to fail, but to keep on a director who has no clue what they are doing, we’re going to keep going down the same path until someone steps in and gives it the much-needed reboot.
