Today is National Ghostbusters Day. What better way to celebrate than Ghostbuster toys from Playmobil!

Just in time for National Ghostbusters Day, Playmobil is releasing six different playsets based on the Ghostbusters.

Now, this is a bigger deal that a lot of people realize. Since Playmobil began in 1974, they’ve never had an entertainment license. Playmobil has done sports licenses but never any entertainment ones. So to have the Ghostbusters as the first licensed property is really cool.

I got the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man set. It comes with a Ray Stantz Playmobil figure, Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, googles, proton pack, and an energy blast.

The Ray figure is pretty much your average Playmobil figure. There’s a lot of nice detail in the paint. I especially like the splash of marshmallow on his uniform. The proton pack fits nicely on his back. Very secure. The blaster fits snugly in his hand. And if you want you can add the energy blast to it. The goggles fit great and can go up and down with them.

The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is taller than the regular Playmobil figures. He stands about 8 inches high. He has very limited motion. Just some in his arm where they meet the shoulders and the wrists. But it’s still really nice figure, and just looks great next to Ray.

Overall this set is a lot of fun. It’s Playmobil, so it takes a lot of imagination, but is that really a bad thing?

Personally, I was sold on this line as soon as I saw them at Toy Fair, so I can wait to get them all.

The Ghosbuster collection from Playmobil is hitting the stores now.
