Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez’s Wonder Woman gets immortalized in a statue

In the latest of the Wonder Woman: The Art Of War statue series spotlights famed DC Comic artist Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez.

You might not be familiar with the name Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez, but even if you’ve never read a comic book, you’ve seen Garcia-Lopez’s art. It’s his art that currently used on all DC Comics licensed merchandise.  Garcia-Lopez’s art has always had this nice clean look to it.

This statue was sculpted by Jack Matthews. Matthews has done an incredible job turning Garcia-Lopez’s art into 3 dimensions. It’s about 6″ high. Perfect height for any space.

In the Art of War collection, artists give their own interpretation of Wonder Woman and Garcia-Lopez is impressive. In this statue, we have a Wonder Woman who appears to be in mid-battle. Shield out and sword ready to strike. An awesome pose.

We don’t get Wonder Woman in her classic uniform. We get one that has more of an ancient Greek feel to it. But at the same time, you definitely get the impression she’s royalty as her tiara is more of a crown.

The paint job is very bold and striking here. And very clean. No paint slop.

All around this is a beautiful statue. A great addition to the Art Of War series.
