The Super Solider gets another Mego treatment.

ThinkGeek got an exclusive Retro set and it’s the one and only Captain America. Of course, I had to have this for my collection!

Like all the sets from Diamond Select, it comes with one figure, three outfits, three heads, multiple hands, and various other accessories. This time around things are a little different for Cap. You get a first appearance Captain America. A police officer Steve Rogers. And Super Soldier or Commander Steve Rogers.

First up is the first appearance Captain America. You know the one. The one where he’s punching Hilter on the cover of his own book. It comes in a repro packaging that looks amazing again and very similar to the previous retro Captain America.  The costume is very similar as well. The only difference is the head. It’s not a complete face mask. Like I said, just like his first appearance. He also comes with his triangle shield. There’s also the iconic round shield if you want to switch it around.

Next is the policeman’s uniform. For a while, when Rogers woke up in modern times, he took a job as a police officer. There are a lot of great details here. EMCE did an excellent job here. He comes with a police uniform with a badge, shoes, and a nightstick. The head comes with a police cap that isn’t removable. I tried. That’s glued on tight. Just as well, I’d probably end up losing it.

Finally, there’s the Super Soldier or Commander Rogers outfit. In writer’s Ed Brubaker’s legendary run, after Cap was killed and came back, he gave up the identity of Captain America to be America’s top cop. This uniform reflects. Again an amazing amount of detail here. He comes with the super soldier outfit, boots, and head. There’s also a translucent shield similar to an energy shield Rogers used in the comics. Great touch here.

As always the EMCE body is just amazing. Nice and tight joints. The heads and hands are easy to switch around. And the huge points of articulation are just impressive as always.

As always this is an amazing figure set from Diamond Select and EMCE. Seriously great addition to your collection.

ThinkGeek Exclusive Captain America Retro Set is available exclusively at ThinkGeek.
