PLAYMOBIL takes the Ghostbuster line to the next level!

Since PLAYMOBIL obtained the Ghostbuster license last year, the product line has been incredible. I had a chance to check it out the first time around, it was amazing. The toy line has been successful, and now PLAYMOBIL has taken it up a notch.

The Ghostbusters II – PLAYMOGRAM 3D Line combines the PLAYMOBIL Ghostbusters with holographic technology. Quite honestly it really adds great play features.

I got Ray Stantz. He’s dressed in his Ghostbusters II uniform. There are a lot of details in the figure, right down to a Ghostbuster patch on his arm. Standard 4 points of articulation that is will all PLAYMOBIL figures.

For accessories, he comes with these gloves that snap over his hands. It’s pretty cool. A proton pack with blaster and stream of energy. A ghost detector. Ray’s trademark goggles. And some type of equipment. I’m not sure what it’s supposed to be, but still pretty nice. Everything fits nicely in his hands.

Now here’s where it gets really cool. Ray comes with a ghost trap. With this trap, there is a pyramid object that’s clear on 3 sides. That fits over the trap. Next, you take your phone and download the PLAYMOBIL PLAYMOGRAM 3D app. When you launch the app, you can choose a ghost. Then you place the trap where the app tells you to put it. Once you do that, dim the lights and you will see a 3D image of the ghost. There’s a button to hit that captures the ghost. That is awesome! There are 4 ghosts to choose from including Slimer. And if the room isn’t dark enough, PLAYMOBIL included a cardboard hood for the trap that will help.

The app is available for Android and iPhone devices. Anything bigger than your cell phone and you won’t get the full effect. How PLAYMOBIL thought of doing this is beyond me, but it’s awesome.

There are the other 3 Ghostbusters (Peter, Egon, and Winston) that will also have the same features.

The MSRP on this pack is $10.99, which really isn’t that bad. And will be in stores starting in February.

I honestly can’t recommend this enough. My 5-year-old son has now drained the battery on my phone because he loves this so much.

Many thanks to PLAYMOBIL for giving us first looks at this toy.
