With issue 10, DC Comics’ Mister Miracle reappears, magically, as if it were always on time.

An awesome cover by Nick Derington greets us in this issue. I have always thought Darkseid was a formidable presence, and his appearance on this issue’s front face does him justice. It’s worth the price of the comic!

Inside, Scott and Big Barda are putting in serious hours tending to the new baby. But to sacrifice the baby for the chance of peace? What kind of choice is that? And how much bickering would we enjoy reading?

Tom King contributes elliptical writing and Mitch Gerads pencils, inks and colors the story.

While it’s fascinating how King manages to tie the Kirby Universe together while focusing on the day-to-day mundane activities of Scott Free and Big Barda, I am getting restless. And hoping that the next issue will propel us into a bit of outdoor drama.

DC Comics, Mister Miracle #10, $3.99 for 24 pages of content. Mature readers.

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
