It’s beautifully illustrated, and skillfully told, this mature adult title from Image; Unnatural #4.

Essentially the story of a pig in a society where interbreeding by animals of different species is strictly forbidden, this story is not strictly just about that. And the pig, as strange as it sounds to say this, is gorgeous. In a pig sort of way. Okay, let’s start again.

Issue 4 continues on in the story of Miss Blair. She has run out of an arranged date and is now accused of her friend’s death. She needs a friend. But the friends she DOES have don’t seem genuine, and she’s suspicious of making new ones. And her dreams seem more real than real life.

It’s full of partial nudity, and steamy scenes. The art is stunningly fluid, the colouring exceptional. The writing is solid, and we feel like our heroine (miss piggy?) is getting deeper and deeper into trouble. Can’t look, but can’t look away!

Writer and artist is Mirka Andolfo, with colors assist by Gianluca Papi.

Image Comics, Unnatural #4, $3.99 for 23 pages of content. Mature readers.

About Alan Spinney

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
