We all know that friendship is important, right? Well, IDW’s My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic #72 goes a long way in showing us this very idea!

Written by Thom Zahler, with art by Agnes Garbowska and colours by Heather Breckel, “MLPFIM 72” starts out with the little ponies finding an old recipe. It’s for Buttercup’s Family Apple Pie!
Off we go, then, trying different versions of the recipe, trying to make a pie for Granny that she will love! There are some great fun plot twists, and amusing discoveries along the way.

It’s heartwarming, and nicely kneaded, this story. The characters are charming, innocent and precocious. The artwork is excellent! There are some good laughs and a feel good, melt in your hand conclusion. Well worth reading to your little one!

About Alan Spinney

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
