Mary Poppins returns is a great movie. And now I know how it won so many academy awards (4 in total).

54 years after the original we get the sequel that was worth it. The movie is about Michael Banks the son from the first movie now working for the same bank as his dad. The problem is that he owes the bank money and has a few days before he is kicked out of his home with his kids (Annabel, John, Georgie) and his sister Jane. Soon Mary Poppins comes back to help the kids be kids and to help the Banks family keep their home. There are new characters, new places and new things to see in this movie.

The movie stars Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins, Lin-Manuel Miranda as Jack, Ben Whishaw as Michael Banks, Emily Mortimer as Jane Banks, Julie Walters as Ellen, Pixie Davies as Annabel Banks, Nathanael Saleh as John Banks, Joel Dawson as Georgie Banks, Colin Firth as William “Weatherall” Wilkins, Meryl Streep as Topsy, David Warner as Admiral Boom, Jim Norton as Mr. Binnacle, Jeremy Swift as Hamilton Gooding, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith as Templeton Frye, Angela Lansbury as the Balloon Lady, Dick Van Dyke as Mr. Dawes Jr, Noma Dumezweni as Miss Penny Farthing, Sudha Bhuchar as Miss Lark and Tarik Frimpong as Angus.

The bonus features are The Practically perfect making of Mary Poppins Returns (the Introduction, underneath the London Sky, can you imagine that, nowhere to go but up) these are the behind the scenes of making Mary Poppins, movie with audio commentary (with Rob Marshall John DeLuca), sing-along edition of the movie (when the musical number are played with subtitles), Jane meets Jane (where the original movie Jane meets the new Jane), seeing things from a different point of view musical number (how the musical numbers were made), Back to Cherry Tree Lane: Dick Van Dyke returns (Dick Van Dyke behind the scenes and how he felt coming back to 17 Cherry Tree Lane), Practically perfect bloopers (Bloopers by the cast of Mary Poppins Returns), deleted song the Anthropomorphic Zoo (a part of the movie that was removed from the original movie and still wasn’t used).
