“Words cannot express my sincerest gratitude to all our backer partners who have propelled the Shi: Return of the Warrior #nofanleftbehind campaign to its incredible success!” Stated Shi creator Billy Tucci.

1,009 Kickstarter backers brought the project to life with an amazing $70,478.00 in pledges. The 1,279 Indiegogo backers were not far behind with $61,3468.00 in pledges bringing the immediate total returns to $131,824.00.

Following his recent success with Zombie-Sama!, Tucci aimed to reach the widest possible crowdfunding audience for Shi: Return of the Warrior with simultaneous 22-day campaigns on both Kickstarter and Indiegogo. Both campaigns launched Thursday November 14 at 9 p.m. EST and ended on December 6.

“We wanted backers on both platforms to benefit from one another’s pledges with our #nofanleftbehind strategy.” Tucci stated, “and the benefit from that is that all who supported us shared in the collective Stretch Goals.”

All physical shipping backers on both Indiegogo and Kickstarter will receive the following Stretch Goal Rewards with all their orders for FREE:

“Again, THANK YOU to all our warriors!” Tucci exclaimed, “We will never forget your faith in us and promise to deliver one incredible graphic novel… Shi is truly back and better than ever!”

Tucci is joined on Shi: Return of the Warrior by co-writer Steven Peros (Stoker & Wells: Order of the Golden Dawn, The Cat’s Meow) co-artist Ricardo Silva (Age of Darkness, Hellina), colorist Brian Miller (Hi-Fi Colour Design), designer/letterer Mindy Lopkin (Zombie-Sama!), and editor J.C. Vaughn (Zombie-Sama, Stoker & Wells: Order of The Golden Dawn).

Superstar artist Amanda Conner (Harley Quinn, Tomoe) provides a cover for the issue, as do stars-in-waiting Conny Valentina and Mike Renzine, and Tucci himself, respectively. They are joined by a true comics legend, George Pérez (JLA/Avengers), who came out of retirement to provide one last cover, an unforgettable, beautiful image of Shi.
