Strike up the band! Diamond has new Select series from Nightmare Before Christmas

The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my son’s favorite films. He’s watched so many times, he knows the entire thing verbatim. What’s great for him is all the really great action figures Diamond Select Toys have given us so far. And series 9 is no exception.

First off there’s Snowmobile Jack Skellington. For the most part, he looks like the regular Jack Skellington. The only real difference is the goggles on his face. It’s really a nice touch. And I love the smile Jack has. Creepy and yet sweet!

Next, is the band made up of Jimi, Jimmi, and James. Jimi is the bass player. Jimmi is the accordion player. James is the sax player. They look like they jump right out of the movie. I do have to admit on the characters, that they almost look like Muppets.

This is 3 sets and each of them has one piece of the snowmobile. This isn’t a Build-A-Figure, you just put all 3 next to each other and you’re all set.

The sculpts are totally amazing. They were designed by Eamon O’Donoghue and sculpted by Cortes Studios, but they look like they came straight from the movie.

I do want to tell you this, due to the fact that both Jack and James are skinny, while they are put together, solidly, they are fragile.  These are not meant to be played with a lot or even forced. Just take your time and you can get them in some really great poses.

Many thanks to Diamond Select Toys for letting us take a look at these!
