Dynamite Comics presents the issue four of the five-issue title DIE!NAMITE.

It’s a crowded story, albeit with an enviable list of heroes and villains. But can Red Sonja, Vampirella, and Dejah Thoris stop bickering and wisecracking long enough for the reader to get their bearings? With Peter Cannon: Thunderbolt and John Carter of Mars joining in, the panels are a stew of characters, bursting with dialogue and action. Plus, zombie gorillas!

At last, the heroes of Earth, Barsoom, Drakulon, and Hyborea and have joined together for a last stand against the zombie plague on the roof of the world — but it is the pandemic too out of control to stop, now that the hidden hand behind the apocalypse is finally revealed?

The main cover by Lucio Parrillu is awesome, the action never seems to stop, everyone seems to know their lines and where to stand, so I’m saying that if this is your brand of theatre, rush into your local shop, grab the latest (and second last) issue and enjoy.

Writer Fred Van Lente has his hands full here slicing up dialogue among the cast while conducting the scenes. Artist Vincenzo Carratu keeps the figures and swords active, keeps the talking cat moving, juggles lights and darks, and makes his way through unscathed. Colourist Kike J. Diaz brings clarity to foreground/background situations, which helps us navigate this jammed up journey.

Dynamite, DIE!NAMITE #4, $3.99 for 23 pages of content. Assume Teen +

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
