Take Batman, the Justice League, LEGO, and animation, and you have the makings of one fun family film.

In LEGO BATMAN: THE MOVIE – DC SUPERHEROES UNITE, Lex Luthor believes that by using Joker’s lethal laughing gas, he can secure the presidency. The only thing that stands in his way is Batman, Superman, and the rest of the Justice League.

This film is based on the popular video game of the same name. And like the game, it has a lot of elements of humor and fun.

Clancy Brown once again shows he’s the one true Lex Luthor. It was great just hearing him voice Luthor again, but it did seem a little out of place to me for some reason. Brown is not unfamiliar of animated comedy, as one of his more famous roles is of Mr. Krabs in SpongeBob SquarePants. I guess I’m just used to his more serious way of doing Luthor in the Justice League cartoon.

Troy Bake provides the voice of Batman and Travis Willingham provides the voice of Superman. Rounding out the cast is Christopher Corey Smith as the Joker and Charlie Schlatter as Robin.

Now if you’re a hard core DC Comics fan or expecting something like the rest of the animated features are going to be disappointed. You can hear the fanboy rage right now.

But seriously, this is a great family film. Especially for the kids. They are definitely the demographic for this film.

Also included on the DVD some shorts. The first one is called Building Batman with stop action filmmaker Garrett Barati. It was pretty interesting seeing Garrett working with kids, showing them how to make a stop action film.

There were a bunch of stop action films that were pretty cool.

And always, some episodes from Batman: Brave and the Bold and Teen Titans.

Kids and fans of the video games will really enjoy this film.

LEGO BATMAN THE MOVE – DC SUPERHEROES UNITE is available now on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, OnDemand
and via Digital Download.

Well, that voice has been shared and evolved into The Fanboy Factor. Brian is an advocate for remembering comic roots, and that we don't forget what was created in the past, and encourage everyone to read it as well. When not swimming in geek culture, he can be seen corrupting..introducing his young son to comics, much to his wife's chagrin.
