The final season of a great cartoon.

Batman: The Brave And The Bold was a great show that teamed up Batman with a different character each week. What was so amazing about this show is how deep into the DC Universe it went. Most of the characters teamed up weren’t A-listers. A lot of them were B-listers, but this show really breathed new life into them. And there were so many Easter Eggs in this series, it appealed to just about any fan of DC Comics. The episodes made references to the Golden Age, Silver Age, the Batman ’66 TV show, and even the modern age. Plus the overall tone of the show was light, not heavy. A little camp. But at the same time, not dumbing things down to the audience. Plus the entire show was heavily influenced by the Dick Sprang era of Batman. It really was a great balance.

So when it was announced that season 3 would be the final season, I, like a lot of fans was really disappointed. To add insult to injury, the final season only got 13 episodes, while the previous 2 had 26. Very messed up in my mind.

Well, the folks over at Warner Bros Home Entertainment have just released this final season on one Blu-Ray disc.

It was great to have the entire season in one collection, especially seeing how I already owned seasons 1 and 2 on Blu-Ray already.

I feel that the final season is the one that really is the best. Mainly because we finally have an episode where Batman has to team-up with Superman. There’s the episode that has incorporates the Sword of the Atom comic in it. And a classic meeting of the Justice League and the Justice Society. Some of the best in my opinion. The last episode, Mitefall, truly is a great commentary on TV shows themselves.

This is a great collection for the last season of a great show. It’s really sad that this show was canceled, and what we got next was that awful Beware The Batman show. But at least you can always watch this disc in the comfort of your own home, anytime you want.

Batman: The Brave And  The Bold: Complete Season Three is available in stores now.
