June Convention Continues to Grow

Tom Peyer is a writer and editor who has worked on nearly every major character in comics. His better known stories include HOURMAN, LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES and BATMAN ’66 for DC Comics, SPIDER-MAN, MARVEL APES and PUNISHER for Marvel Comics and THE SIMPSONS and BART SIMPSON for Bongo Comics.Peyer was also a founding editor of DC’s groundbreaking VERTIGO imprint.
More recently, Peyer’s 2016-2017 AfterShock Comics series CAPTAIN KID, written with Mark Waid, featured a unique spin on a standard super-hero trope: a middle-aged man who becomes a teen-age super-hero. Peyer is now part of a group that is developing a new line of comics to be announced later this year.
As a creative “hometown hero”, Peyer was born in Syracuse and lives there still.
Syracuse’s Salt City Comic-Con, celebrating its fourth year, moves to the Oncenter’s War Memorial building in downtown Syracuse this year during June 24th and 25th. Tom Peyer will be appearing the convention both Saturday and Sunday.
