I was able to get a Blu-ray/DVD Combo of War for Planet of the Apes. I wasn’t a fan of the first one in this series, but I did like the second and this one well I was hoping for better.

The movie picks up a few years after Dawn and Caesar’s group is being haunted by a group of ragtag soldiers (the Alphas/Omega). Caesar Location is found out by the colonel played by Woody Harrelson and Attack, Caesar is determined to hunt down the Colonel and kill him (because the Colonel killed his wife and second child).

Caesar is not alone his band of simian brothers follows him to make sure that he comes back to the group. On the way there they meet up with 2 new characters one a human girl (the name her Nova because she has a car Grill with the word Nova on it) and Chimpanzee named Bad Ape.

I really love all the extra in this DVD/Blu-ray combo. And with the audio commentary makes it even better. There was even stuff I didn’t know about the series (The ape saga and Weta).

Deleted scenes include audio commentary by Matt Reeves (graveyard, turncoats, barrier wall, “I owe you one”, “a great man”, “do not lose hope” snowfall, the colonel’s speech, Malcolm, and dinosaurs, “I am like Koba”,)
Waging war for the planet of the apes: This is the making of the movie which is pretty cool seeing all the actor wearing the setup (as the Apes).

All about Caesar: This is how Caesar evolved into the ape he is now (and how Andy Serkis help shape Caesar)

Weta: pushing bounding: this is all about how the computer Artist (Visual effects team) made War.

Music for apes: how the composer make the music for War.

Apes the meaning of it all: This is how Planet of the apes was created and how it evolved into a cult classic.

The ape saga an homage: This showed how each of the movies had little bits of the original in it.

Concept art gallery: showing how every one bit of war was planned and which was used.

Theatrical trailer: these are the trailers that was shown.

Each extra contains audio commentary by Matt Reeves.
