Wow, the Lady Killer Trade Paperback Volume 2 from Dark Horse doesn’t pull any punches! It doesn’t pull any kicks, axes, knives, or other weapons either!

It is a real psychotic thrill ride to read this new volume of collected Lady Killer comics.

I’m new to the wicked world of Josie Schuller, having missed the first volume of issues, collected in September 2015.

But I got up to speed quickly and learned that Josie Schuller and her husband and two girls are now in Cocoa Beach. Josie is holding a Tupperware party, but ends up with more in the containers than mere leftovers! Things quickly get more complicated. Josie’s husband’s boss is a heavy drinker and his wife is a flirt. And there are bodies stacking up all over the place. Then, even more, drama occurs when Josie is approached by various entrepreneur hitman services.

How much can a girl manage and still be home to cook supper for her hardworking hubby?

The five issues collected here are steeped in the unusual and unsettling combination of finely illustrated stories of sadistic murder and dismemberment.

Written and drawn by Joelle Jones, (colors by Michelle Madsen) each issue is unbelievably strong in story, tongue-in-cheek dialogue, and drawings. I am completely amazed at the contrast between the grisly storyline and the slick drawing style, which seems to have been plucked out of an early 1960’s fashion magazine.

As I said earlier, this is a real psychotic thrill ride, and if you are into viewing weirdly wonderful killing sprees in crystal clear color, you need to check out this title! In addition to collecting the five issue of Volume 2 of Lady Killer, this trade also includes sketches, a fashion page and other ‘behind the scenes’ goodies.

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
