Diamond Select gives fans a second chance to get the original Venom.
The original Venom is getting a comeback in popularity. After so many changes, Eddie Brock is once again the anti-hero Venom. Add that to the upcoming movie with Tom Hardy, is it any wonder why he’s popular again.
Diamond Select has re-released their Venom Marvel Select that originally came out in 2013. I’m glad they did!
This figure is just awesome. A little over 8 inches, the figure is perfectly balanced. It doesn’t come with a stand, nor does it need one. There is slight ab movement which helps with posing of the figure. A little of 16 points of articulation making posing easy and creative.
Venom comes with 3 heads, 3 sets of hands, a set of extra arms, and a “spawning” attachment.
The sculpt by Jean St. Jean is amazing. While it’s a simple costume, St. Jean added so many little details that highlight this figure. You can see the veins on the figure.
Then there are the head sculpts. The first is one that looks like a cross between Todd McFarlane and Sam Keith. It’s very cool. The second is one with the symbiote covering his head. It’s a really cool effect. And finally, there’s one with the jaws open and tongue sticking out.
There’s also an attachment for the back that looks like several Venom heads spawning out of him. You also attach arms to it and it just looks frightening. This is where the balance comes in play. With all this extra on his back, he still doesn’t fall over.
I missed out the first time Diamond Select released Venom, so I was glad to get a second chance to get him, without paying scalper prices.
