DC Collectibles line of best selling black and white statues are now action figures
It started with the comic series Batman: Black and White back in 1996 that led to a popular line of statues starting in 2005. The concept behind the statues was a simple one. A 6″ to 7″ statue based on Batman with each one focusing on a different artist. The entire line has been a who’s who of artists: From classic artists Bob Kane and Dick Sprang, to modern artists like John Romita Jr. and Amanda Conner. There have been about 107 statues and the line is still going strong.
Now DC Collectibles has taken it to the next obvious step with a line of black and white actions figures based on Batman.
The first wave includes Bob Kane, Jim Lee, and Greg Capullo.
Now, these figures are all re-decos of previous Batman action figures, but there is something about the grayscale that I really like. The Bob Kane is from the 1st First Appearance line, but with a rubber cape instead of cloth. The Jim Lee is the Batman: Hush one that has been used many times. And the Greg Capullo one is DC Designer Series Batman Figure.
The figures do not come with any accessories, but each comes with the iconic Batman: Black and White stand.
These are a great compliment to the statue line and I hope it does continue. DC Collectibles has had some many great Batman action figures based on artists, I feel they should get the black and white treatment.
Many thanks to DC Collectibles for sending these to us to take a look at these
