Disney Duo Joins ‘Gotham,’ ‘Supernatural’ Stars At Inaugural Event, August 3-5 At Benton Convention Center

Christy Carlson Romano and Will Friedle, known to millions of fans as the voices of “Kim Possible” and “Ron Stoppable” in the Disney Channel animated series “Kim Possible,” have been added to the celebrity roster at Wizard World Comic Con Winston-Salem, August 3-5 at the Benton Convention Center. They will greet fans, sign autographs, pose for solo and dual photo ops and conduct an interactive fan Q&A during the inaugural event.

Romano will appear on Saturday and Sunday, while Friedle is scheduled to attend all three days of the convention.

Romano, who earned an Emmy nomination for her role in “Kim Possible,” was the first to appear on three Disney Channel projects simultaneously, as she starred in “Even Stevens” and “Cadet Kelly.” Later she was the voice n numerous other franchises and shows like “Family Guy” and “The Penguins of Madagascar.” She has also had successful runs on Broadway (“Disney’s Beauty and the Beast”), TV movies and songwriting.

Friedle has also extended his run to further success, notably as “Eric Matthews” on the classic TV sitcom “Boy Meets World.” He can currently be heard as “Star-Lord” in Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Teen Titans Go!” and several other animated series, among his nearly 100 film, TV and video game credits.

They join a celebrity roster that already includes the “Gotham” trio of Robin Lord Taylor, Sean Pertwee and David Mazouz, the “Supernatural” tandem of Ruth Connell and Lisa Berry, Henry Winkler (“Happy Days,” “Barry”), Holly Marie Combs (“Charmed,” “Picket Fences”), Charisma Carpenter (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Angel”) and Thomas Ian Nicholas (Rookie of the Year, American Pie) headline the roster of celebrity guests scheduled to attend the comic con and pop culture extravaganza.

Wizard World Comic Con events bring together thousands of fans of all ages to celebrate the best in pop culture: movies, television, gaming, live entertainment, comics, sci-fi, graphic novels, toys, original art, collectibles, contests and more. The ninth event scheduled on the 2018 Wizard World calendar, Winston-Salem show hours are Friday, August 3, 4-9 p.m.; Saturday, August 4, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday, August 5, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Kids 10 and under are admitted free with paid adult.

Wizard World Comic Con Winston-Salem is also the place for cosplay, with fans young and old showing off their best costumes throughout the event. Fans dressed as every imaginable character – and some never before dreamed – will roam the convention floor and participate in the famed Wizard World Costume Contest on Saturday evening.
