DC Artist Alley is a line of designer vinyl figures from DC Collectibles that are directly inspired by popular “Artist Alley” guest from Conventions. Sho Murase is one of those artists on the rise!

Sho Murase style of art merges Asian, manga, and western art influences with a personal dark twist. Her version of Batgirl is just STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL! Sam Greenwell did a great job bringing Sho’s art to life. The Clear-Cast Sparkle Variant is limited to 700 pieces and can be found at Foot Locker, and the Rainbow Iridescent version is limited to 800 pieces and can be found at Books-A-Million. Sho was a perfect choice to create this Batgirl and having this vinyl figure in hand is all the proof you will need.

Box art is amazing on both figures however the Clear-Cast Sparkle version is my favorite. Both figures come with a stock card that has Sho’s artwork on it. There is no window display like on The Flash box which was a smidge disappointing but not a turn-off.

Batgirl is posed with her cape blowing in the wind pressed against her. She is holding a bat-a-rang in her right hand with Batgirl’s signature smirk. Both vinyl figures are beautiful and the pictures do not do them justice. The Clear-Cast just pops the white paint on top of the clear pink is a home run with this figure. The Rainbow Iridescent version is nothing to scoff at. It does not have that POP that the other has, but it is still an amazing color scheme that looks great on your shelf almost like a bronzed statue.

Sho Murase is DEFINITELY an artist I will be on the lookout for when she does future projects with DC. If statues are your game but you cannot afford the resin style, then jump on these designer vinyl figures. They have statue quality, look, and design for a $40 price tag.

JQ gives the DC Artist Alley Batgirl by Sho Murase a solid 8.8 out of 10.

  1. I’ve been looking for the clear cast sparkle variant of Batgirl since December. I got the poison ivy, Harley Quinn, and catwoman variants at Hot Topic, so naturally that’s where I checked for batgirl. BUT NOW IM READING THAT SHES A FOOTLOCKER EXCLUSIVE?!?! I dropped by my local footlocker, but she wasnt there. This was the only place I got any information on where to find her, yet she hasn’t been anywhere I looked who can help me? I must complete my set!

    1. Hey! I’m not sure if you have found it yet but there’s some on eBay and they’re not too expensive :) hope this helps you haven’t found her yet!
