East Coast Comicon returns in full force to the Meadowlands in New Jersey!

I really love East Coast Comicon. Unlike bigger cons like New York Comic Con where the focus is more on media, East Coast Comicon gets back to the roots: Comic books!

The show was amazing as always. Plenty of vendors. Fun cosplayers. Kids events. Great comic creators. I have to admit this year’s show was a little bittersweet. One of the main guests was George Perez, and he is retiring. So East Coast Comicon was part of his farewell tour. Marv Wolfman was scheduled to appear as well, but he had a fall right before the show and had to cancel his appearance. We wish him a speedy recovery. Other guests included Jim Starlin, Ron Lim, Denis Kitchen, Joe Sinnott, and many more.

Media guests included Val Kilmer, Kevin Conroy, Andrea Romano, and several others. Plenty of photo ops there as well.

The panels were cool. Topics like Stan Lee, writing comics, and the Infinity Gauntlet story, which was the inspiration for Thanos storyline in the Marvel movies.

Meadowlands Exposition Center is a great venue for this show. It’s easy to get to, and there is plenty of room to move around in. Of course, some areas get a little crowded, like George Perez’s line, but it never really feels crowded in there.

Hats off the crew of East Coast Comicon. Once again they did an incredible job on this con. I can’t wait to see what next year brings!
