Diamond Select gives the fans an incredible Sandman action figure to play with!

Diamond Select has always done an amazing job when it comes to the Marvel Select line. With each figure, DST just tops themselves again and again. This Sandman just tops it!

Sandman first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #4 way back in 1963. He started a villain, then had a change of heart and became a hero for a while. One mind wipe and Sandman is back to his evil ways.

Designed by Eamon O’Donoghue, and hand-sculpted by Jean St. Jean, this figure is incredible. The figure is about 7″ tall with about 21 points of articulation. Posing is limited by your imagination.

The paint application is very nice as well. It’s the iconic look of Sandman we are all used to. What’s really cool here is the paint looks like there is sand on the figure. It’s a really cool effect.

Now here where’s this figure really rocks. First, you get 2 sets of hands: One fist and one grasping. The hands easily are attachable and don’t affect the wrist joints at all. He also has an extra left hand that kind of looks like it’s pointing. But what is the point of a Sandman if you don’t have any sand effects. Don’t worry, DST thought of that.

Sandman comes with an open sand hand that looks like it’s flowing. He also comes with larger sand fist, and again the level of detail is amazing. He also has a sand “spiked batter ram”. And finally a spiked sand mace. The way DST figured out how to interchange them, is the forearm removable. Then the sand hand pop right into a nub right below the elbow.

And if that wasn’t cool enough, you can remove Sandman’s lower half at the torso and plug in a sand column. The total look is nothing short of incredible. Sandman also has a base where you can plug his feet into.

Bravo to DST for giving us one hell of a Spider-Man villain. You are seriously going to want this for your collection!

Many thanks to Diamond Select for allowing us to check this out!!
