SHI: RETURN OF THE WARRIOR SURPASSES $79,000! $80K STRETCH GOAL IN SIGHT!

Offers ALL NEW Black Friday Celebration Remarked Print

Day 12 marks our Battle of Midway as we hit the mid-point for the Shi: Return of the Warrior 22-Day crowdfunding campaign. The combined #NoFanLeftBehind strategy total is less than $700 shy of our next stretch goal of $80,000! Following Crusade Comics’ recent success with Zombie-Sama, Shi has smashed the former’s previous 30-day Kickstarter total of $74,000.00 in just eight days by a backer army of over 1,100 “samurai.”

For Thanksgiving week, Crusade now offers a NEW reward level: The Shi Black Friday Remarked Noir Print!  Each of these extremely limited 11” x17” prints will be SIGNED, NUMBERED and REMARKED by SHI creator, Billy Tucci, himself.

The 48-page full-color graphic novel now sets its sights on breaking $80,000.00 with even more specials being announced on Cyber-Monday (December 2nd).

The character’s first new full-length adventure in fifteen years defies traditional comic book practice as the   book’s heroine, Ana Ishikawa has aged a quarter century since we first met her in 1994’s Shi: The Way of the Warrior #1. Return of the Warrior launched Thursday, November 14, 2019, via a dynamic, two-pronged crowdfunding campaign, far smashing its initial funding goal of $20,000.00.

“Shi’s Back!” Tucci exclaimed. “I cannot begin to express my gratitude to all our backers who have resurrected Ana Ishikawa and I’m overwhelmed by the enthusiastic fan-response to a mature single mother resurrecting the hero within to save her teenage daughter.”

The duel, crowdfunding strategy for Return of the Warrior is also groundbreaking as it aims to reach the widest possible audience with two simultaneous campaigns running on both platforms. The campaign motto, “No Fan Left Behind” offers mirror pledge levels on both Indiegogo and Kickstarter and will end December 6.

Tucci is joined on Shi: Return of the Warrior by co-writer Steven Peros (Stoker & Wells: Order of the Golden Dawn, The Cat’s Meow) co-artist Ricardo Silva (Age of Darkness, Hellina), colorist Brian Miller (Hi-Fi Colour Design), designer/letterer Mindy Lopkin (Zombie-Sama!), and editor J.C. Vaughn (Zombie-Sama, Stoker & Wells: Order of The Golden Dawn).

Superstar artist Amanda Conner (Harley Quinn, Tomoe) provides a cover for the issue, as do stars-in-waiting Conny Valentina and Mike Renzine, and Tucci himself, respectively. They are joined by a true comics legend, George Pérez (JLA/Avengers), who came out of retirement to provide one last cover, an unforgettable, beautiful image of Shi.

“It’s been a long time since we last saw Ana Ishikawa and I’m incredibly moved by the fan reception to Return of the Warrior.” Tucci said. “We’ve got more fantastic stretch goal rewards ready to unlock and I cannot wait to reveal them all.  Thanks to our crowdfunding partners, Shi is bigger than ever!”
