Nightwing takes center stage in a new statue from Diamond Select

I’ve been a huge fan a Nightwing since Dick Grayson took up the identity in DC Comics’ Tales of the Teen Titans #44. The transition from Robin to Nightwing was such a natural progression. Nightwing actually became one of the most trusted heroes of the DCU. So when I heard Diamond Select Toys was making a statue of Nightwing, I knew I just had to have it for my collection.

This is an extremely impressive statue. The entire statue is made of PVC, so it’s nice a lightweight. It’s also a more durable material, which is great in my case because I have 7-year old that likes to “look” at daddy’s collection.

The statue was designed by Joe Allard, who has designed many toys, has outdone himself here. And with Jean St. Jean’s sculpt, what we get is a dynamic pose of Nightwing leaping into action. He really looks like he’s about ready to pounce on some bad guys. You can see the seams on Nightwing’s suit, and the details in his hands and escrima sticks is highly impressive. St. Jean even gave his that Grayson butt that the ladies like so much!

The coloring on this statue are really nice too. The light blue isn’t too light. Just enough to separate the black in the outfit.

This statue is a great interpretation of  Nightwing in action. Personally, it’s a must to get for your collection.

Many thanks to Diamond Select Toys for sending this for us to check out!
