Everyone’s Favorite Dysfunctional Duo Pay Homage to Film Classics, Coming Spring 2022
Oni Press and Warner Bros. Consumer Products, in collaboration with Adult Swim, are pleased to announce cult favorite Rick and Morty™ comics will debut three all-new stories in spring 2022 with Rick and Morty™ Presents: HeRICKTics of Rick, Rick and Morty™ Presents: Morty’s Run, and the four-issue Rick and Morty™: Infinity Hour.
In January, Rick and Morty™ Presents: HeRICKtics of Rick, a one-shot featuring the talents of Amy Chu (Poison Ivy: Circle of Life, Sea Sirens) and Alexander Chang, art by Sarah Stern (Rick and Morty™, Aggretsuko), and lettering by crank! “Writing Rick and Morty™ has now elevated me to the highest level of coolness,” said Amy Chu, who co-wrote the issue with her son, Alexander Chang.
When Rick finds the source of a new, incredibly powerful substance, he lays claim to an entire planet in order to corner the market. But Rick and Morty aren’t the only ones on the recently renamed Arrickis, and the original inhabitants aren’t going to go away quietly. Soon they become embroiled in the local political and religious struggle, forcing them to try and escape not only with their lives, but with their minds intact! “It’s been such an honor to help write this story. Being an avid fan of the show, it‘s crazy to think that I could directly implement elements and behaviors from the show into this story,” said Chang.
Following close behind, Rick and Morty™ Presents: Morty’s Run and Rick and Morty™: Infinity Hour will be available this March. In Rick and Morty™ Presents: Morty’s Run, Morty finds out he’s going to summer camp and will do anything to escape, including listening to Rick. Can Morty survive a world ruled by thirteen-year-olds all by himself? Written by Ivan Cohen (Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries, Justice League: The One Where…), illustrated by Puste (Rick and Morty™), with colors by Leonardo Ito (Batman’89, Rick and Morty™), and lettering by crank!.
Rick has always known he was destined for greater things but when that greater thing calls, will he be ready to answer? In the four-issue miniseries Rick and Morty™: Infinity Hour, Rick is recruited to join a galactic rebellion, forming a bond with a ragtag group of freedom fighters, mystics, and mercenaries. Can this team of would-be heroes overthrow the Galactic Federation? Written by Mags Visaggio (Rick and Morty™, Lost on Planet Earth), illustrated by Marc Ellerby (Rick and Morty™), and with colors by Leonardo Ito and lettering by Crank!, Ellerby commented, “This prequel is going to break your heart one second and make you punch your fist in the air the next. Mags has written a great script, and I’m incredibly excited to team up with the legend that is Leonardo Ito on colors, one of the best color artists working in the industry today.”

A prolific writer in comic books and animation, Ivan Cohen has scripted episodes of Teen Tights Go! and Beware the Batman, as well as the bestselling graphic-novel adaptation of 2021’s Space Jam: A New Legacy. The co-writer of The Batman and Scooby-Doo Mysteries comic book series for DC Comics, he has also written comics for DC and Marvel featuring the Looney Tunes, Teen Titans Go!, and members of the Justice League and the Avengers, among many others. In 2020, Cohen attracted national press attention with his introduction of the character Kid Quick to the DC Universe: a nonbinary superhero who would later be established as the future inheritor of the Flash mantle.
David Antón Gomis, aka. Puste, is a comic book artist, inker, colorist, letterer, cover artist—everything related to the world of comics. A lover of Asian cinema and the world of animation, he has been lucky enough to work with WWE, Voltron, and to draw one of his favorite series, Rick and Morty™. He is working on the Nanits Chronicles – Underground Series. When he is not chained to the table drawing comics, he makes short films with the production company Zertin.
For over twelve years, Leonardo Ito has brought worlds to life coloring properties such as Batman Animated, TMNT, Powerpuff Girls, Rick and Morty, and Sonic the Hedgehog, among many others. Japan, technology, and racing games are some of the things he won’t shut up about. If you don’t believe him, just ask his wife.
Magdalene Visaggio is the Eisner and GLAAD Media Award-nominated writer behind Kim & Kim, Eternity Girl, Dazzler: X Song, Transformers vs. Visionaries, and Morning in America. A lifelong comics reader, she studied English at Virginia Commonwealth University and did graduate work in Ethics & Moral Theology at Seton Hall before dropping out to focus on writing comics where people hit each other with guitars. When not writing, she’s probably passed out on her couch at three in the morning with a cat on top of her while Netflix asks if she wants to continue watching Star Trek: The Next Generation. She lives in Manhattan.
