Playmates Toys had a media event at Toy Fair 2014 for Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  The line continues with more figures than you can shake a Sai at (you got to admit, that was pretty clever of me).  The basic line continues through wave 11 into the fall of 2014 with 25 figures, including fan favorite Casey Jones.

To go along with the basic line for 2014, there’s new vehicles and deluxe figures, as well.

The line also includes new deluxe figures with wind up action, interactive turtles and “Stretch and Shout” action figures.  The Stretch and Shout figures were really cool.  You pull on their arms, to activate the Turtles’ scream.  The more you pull on their arms, the higher in pitch the scream gets.  Very clever, Playmates.  Very clever.

One of the coolest toys they’re showing for 2014?  The TNMT Blimp.  This thing is enormous!  It inflates to 30 inches and can hold up to 5 figures!  Forget the Shell Shocker.  Your kids (ie you) are gonna want this thing.

Playmates Toys is joining in on the toddler craze with a line of “half shell heroes”.  The figures feature larger eyes, hands and feet.  Playmates is going both ends of the spectrum with oversized figures and smaller 2 inch figures like Hasbro’s Playskool Heroes line and Mattel’s Imaginext.  They’ve got a playset coming your way, too.  Cause your figures need a place to hang when there’s downtime.

Playmates also showed off their line of figures for the upcoming Ninja Turtles or Teenage Ninja Turtles (which ever title they finally decide on) movie.  We weren’t allowed to take pictures, but I think I’m allowed to tell you the figures aren’t nearly as bad as you’re probably expecting.

Your friendly neighborhood jman’s pick?  The Stretch and Shout figures.  Cool and clever, I’ll definitely be getting one of these guys.
