Will the Oscar winner for Room play Marvel Comics popular female hero?

Variety is reporting that Brie Larson has been talking to Marvel Studios to play Captain Marvel.

If true, this will be great casting on Marvel’s part. Larson was incredible in Room and can play the troubled hero.

Captain Marvel first appeared in her identity, Carol Danvers, in Marvel Super-Heroes #13 (March 1968), where she struck by energy. Carol later appeared as the heroine Ms. Marvel Ms. Marvel #1 (January 1977). Since her first first appearance Carol has been a solo hero, an Avenger, raped, an alcoholic, and finally able to take on the mantle of Captain Marvel.
