Comic Review: Action Comics #974 (DC Comics)

It has been ages since Action Comics that had been released since in the 1930s, however, Action Comics had introduced to Superman as the first superhero in the whole series and DC comics. And now the Action comics kept going on this latest issue.

We all noticed that Superman is what signifies what superheroes are for in American comics. Although, the Action Comics made its return in August 2016 because they wanted to see the old-fashioned Action Comics of Superman, and it transcended the whole DC universe of Superman into a whole new generation, well moving on.

In this latest issue, Superman is in the Arctic of the South Pole, he and Kelex are trying to save Lana Lang also known as Superwoman’s life from her severe sickness. However, her powers are eating her alive is what she had caused from the last battle, her powers were draining until she dies when her powers are gone. Superman had to do something to keep her alive, so he went to the source which Lang’s powers appeared to be Kryptonite, and then he went to another room to activate the Kryptonian battle armor to restore her life. However, her Kryptonian’s blood would probably save her because it’s the only way.

Meanwhile, in the city of Metropolis, Lois suspects that something is wrong, and she observes her pictures of Clark which appears to be another doppelganger of him. She just literary looked some pictures of his daily life, even Superman. For somehow, she knew that he’s nothing but a fake. Lois was waiting for Clark to take her for a dinner date, which is turning out to be an awkward situation between those two. So Clark took her to a fancy restaurant to have something special to her, he asks her to marry him, but at the end, Lois refuses because she knew that something is wrong with him. After she left him, he got snapped and followed her to know what’s going on and who’s keeping her away from him none other than another duplication of him, but he looks alike.

In my point of view, the Action Comics were sold popular worldwide, even DC comics brought it back after all these years. There’s no doubt that Superman is one of the most important superheroes in the DC universe. Of course, this is one comic that I would recommend anyone to read.
