Batgirl gets her own sidekick this issue in the form of 7-year-old Esme.
Esme shows no fear as she stands up to a whole gang of ruffians looking for a missing dog. Batgirl steps in before it gets too dangerous for her and is away to take her home when they happen upon Catwoman out looking for her missing pet (who would be stupid enough to steal from Catwoman)
The trio investigates the missing pets and finds themselves under attack from Velvet Tiger who is behind it all and just as Batgirl and Catwoman look to be getting overwhelmed Esme pulls off a massive gamble to save them both.
With Velvet Tiger defeated and the police on their way? Catwoman decides that’s her cue to amscray and before Batgirl can stop her she and her cat are legging it across rooftops to escape.
A nice feel good issue and I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw Esme again as she knew her stuff and really helped Batgirl to find the missing pets so think she would be a pretty decent sidekick for Batgirl to take under her wing
