DC’s Batman, Sins of the Father returns for a second issue. Let’s check it out!

The second issue of ‘Sins Of The Father’ (“SOTF”) is written by Christos Gage, with art by Rafaele Ienco, colors by Guy Major.

Someone is shooting former Arkham Asylum employees! Yikes! And it’s a professional assassin! Double Yikes! And it seems that Thomas Wayne had a hand in treating the inmates poorly, thus the “SOTF” connection!

Batman gets himself into the whole mess, trying to sort things out, but has to battle The Black Spider, yet another assassin!

The story serves us well, but one thought kept popping into my head while Batman and Black Spider were fighting: why are they having such a long-winded chat, in each and every panel of the fight? Be quiet and have your fight, guys!! Or at least sum up your dialogue and give us a reprieve sometimes!

The art is detailed, but not up to the high expectations that other Batman books have promised; I’d enjoy more kinetic action and dynamics in future issues!

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
