It’s the start of the new WEEKLY comic title from DC: The Man of Steel #1!

In Part 1, written by Brian Michael Bendis, and illustrated by Ivan Reis, Jay Fabok, (pencils), Joe Prado (inks) and Alex Sinclair (colors), two storylines are proceeding in parallel: today, Superman is rescuing dogs and people from burning buildings and looking after his family. All good in Metropolis.

In the past, Krypton is being criticized for being a ‘resources hog’, and there are creatures intent on destroying this wasteful planet. However, not all of them agree: some believe that Krypton can change its ways and redeem itself. But it still looks like War!

Well written and well drawn, it’s the first issue of this ‘weekly event’, so we are just getting started… let’s stay tuned and see how it progresses, as things surely heat up for The Man of Steel!

DC Comics, The Man of Steel #1, $3.99 for 23 pages of content, rated Teen

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
