From Disney and IDW comes issue 4 of Walt Disney Showcase. This all-ages comic serves up two rollicking tales of Goofy and his pals.

The first story, “A Pocket in Time”, stars Arizona Goof, who is Goofy’s adventurous cousin. It also features Eega Beeva, a space-traveling creature.

It seems that Eega needs help; his pants pocket has a hole in it. Not normally a big deal, but Eega’s pocket is magic and bottomless. In fact, he can pull practically anything out of it; a motorcycle, a yacht, and so on. So, off they go through the universe, Eega and Arizona Goof, in search of mending!

It’s a freewheeling ‘shaggy dog’ story, where they travel from one place to another, having madcap adventures as they go. Fun for reading to kids!

Originally published in Italy, this story has been translated into English and printed for the first time in the USA.

The second story, “Vacation Frustrations”, is also having its debut in the USA. Goofy wants to get away from it all for the summer, but finds out that it’s not as easy as he thinks! This one has cameos from other Disney characters and is drawn in a very loose style. Once again, fun reading for kids, who will hoot at some of the situations!

IDW Walt Disney Showcase #4, $3.99 for 37 pages of content. All ages

About Alan Spinney

After a career of graphic design, art direction and copywriting, I still have a passion for words and pictures. I love it when a comic book comes together; the story is tight, and the drawings lead me forward. Art with words... the toughest storytelling technique to get right. Was this comic book worth your money? Let's see!!
