Comic Review: Batman #55 (DC Comics)

Wow I mean seriously WOW. Pretty sure I could start with that after every Tom King issue

This issue follows on the relationship of Bruce and Dick as Nightwing does his best to cheer Batman up or at least elicit a smile from him, jeering him into bravery competitions or making a classic hero pun its brilliant to read the interaction. The connection these two characters have shines through all the writing and artwork it flows beautifully throughout while it is interspersed with an assassin stalking the city waiting for his target while the buzz of the surrounding people continues around him.

I love how this is written out the conversations of people playing out around the assassin really highlights the focus he has and makes him more intense and then, of course, THAT PANEL.

Tom King continues to just rip up the rule book as to what he can and can’t do, he lulls you in with his storytelling then just rips everything away and leaves you just gobsmacked! Its incredible and he keeps managing to up the ante again and again!
