Dark Horse Comics brings you a Japanese graphic novel that focuses on one kid which is Mob Psycho 100 on its first volume.

Before there was the webcomic and the actual manga series of One Punch Man, there was Mob Psycho 100, which made the author ONE to make one of the bad-ass stories that focus on the modern life of a superhero and a superhuman. Now, of course, the manga was published by Shogakukan Inc. instead of Weekly Shonen Jump, it gets published in America right after the series ended, and the story is much more based like One Punch Man, but this manga just makes you read back to the webcomic. Now, there existed seven ONE mangas and two anime adaptations, so the manga that everyone usually knows is One Punch Man because we do get that Saitama is the beast out there while other mangas that he made were like caterpillars taking such a long time to grow into a butterfly, but they need to eat in order to grow, same for the stories that need to have more readers to grow its popularity. The story follows up with some ordinary life of a hero than anything in society, so it kinda invents his own world of extraordinary people with superpowers.

Let’s begin, I got a few theories of this manga made by the author, but I gotta start with the plot. This manga is like giving you some Sci-Fi vibes about a boy who possesses psychic powers to fight supernatural phenomenon like ghosts and spirits named Shigeo Kageyama who also calls him Mob because he’s a superhuman. It’s like having that guy into the Ghostbusters group but also goes hunting ghosts with his own power. Eventually, if he can’t control his powers, he’ll be likely to snap and go berserk. However, Mob wants to live a normal life just like everyone else, but somehow there’s always trouble ahead of him. Like who does he think he is, Espa Roba? Then, of course, his superhuman powers can actually be intimidating to every other person in school, he can dodge dumbbell weights, bend spoons and lift each object with his mind, he exorcizes and fights ghosts and evil spirits, but luckily he has a mentor and a counselor who is aware of Mob’s powers because he’s socially awkward and helps him to defeat ghosts as his job. Some say that this manga is weird, but it’s more complicated to know that Mob wants to have an ordinary life than to use his powers to destroy.

ONE’s story focuses on comedy and action, the same as One Punch Man, but more likely the art is much more to be drawn of a webcomic, but it doesn’t matter about the art because it depends what the editor tells the author whether the story is interesting or not. Furthermore, if ONE can make a crossover between this manga and One Punch Man, then the whole crossover would be more interesting to have a bald wearing cape hero and a middle school student fight together. Speaking of One Punch Man, the webcomic is much more similar to Mob Psycho 100, but then that manga was remade and illustrated by Yusuke Murata. What if ONE asked Murata to draw and remake the manga of Mob Psycho 100 and then everything else would be equal for the two mangas that the author made. And the art is not that bad for someone who makes webcomics, either way, his manga would be much more famous even if Murata has joined his ideal. Either way, I would like Yusuke Murata to redraw this manga in the future. But what will Mob’s future bring? If you rather read another comic that is similar to One Punch Man, then this is for you.
