One thing can always stay constant in this world. DC Collectibles can make some BEAUTIFUL statues.

The Endless Duel continues with the new PVC DC Core Statue Series

No matter the format if it’s PVC or resin the sculpting team at DC Collectibles continues to hit home run after home run. The new DC Core line adds to the already impeccable lineup. This first wave brought Batman, Joker, Batgirl, and Wonder Woman into a new format for DC Collectibles. The PVC Statues stand at about 10 inches and each has amazing action poses. When I was asked to review Batman and The Joker, I said yes without hesitation. The samples we were given were Variant Colors to the main releases. So they may look slightly different.

Batman  is posed in an almost running pose about to toss a batarang at one of Gotham’s most wanted. The amount of detail work to the sculpt needs to be applauded. The suit, cape, gauntlets, and even the grimace on Batman’s face are amazing. I do have a small gripe with the paint application. There are a few spots on the symbol that have some overlay of the gold paint to the suit. In the long run that is small potatoes as you rarely ever get a perfect paint application on any item.

Joker looks straight maniacal looking like he is celebrating the beating of a Robin. Looking at this statue I can hear Mark Hamill’s laugh as Joker is celebrating his newest nefarious plan.  The way they have the coat tails and the tie sculpted it is like you can see it moving. The addition of Joker’s cane is a nice touch and the colors they chose really make this stand out. The paint application was far better on this figure than the Batman and with all the added touches they put on the Joker it made it my favorite. From the purple paint on the inside of the jacket to the silver on the cane top they really went all out on this one.

Jim Fletcher did an amazing job designing these and I really look forward to more of his designs in the future.  Alejandro Pereia did a bang-up job bringing Joker to life. I am not taking anything away from Alejandro Pereia’s Batman sculpting but I just have to favor the Joker on this round! I am a Batman: Black and White statue collector so my love is with resin and how they make it all work out. However, if DC keeps this PVC game on point then there is another collection I will be adding to my shelves.

JQ gives the DC Core Batman and Joker a combined 8 out of 10! Well done DC Collectibles.
