The skateboard riding fighter and leader of the New Warriors comes to Marvel Legends

First appearing in Thor #411 in 1989, Night Thrasher was introduced as the leader of a team of young heroes known as the New Warriors. From there, the New Warriors got their own book, and Night Thrasher gain popularity. It took some time, but Hasbro finally gave us an action figure of him.

This figure is just beautiful. The design is based on Night Thrasher’s original costume. An all black suit of light armor, with red highlights in the helmet, a red belt, and the iconic sash around the leg. Just have to love the 90’s for that one! There is a lot of details in the sculpt and it looks like he jumped right out of the pages of the comic book. While you can’t see his full face, you can see his typical ticked off expression in his eyes.

Night Thrasher comes with some great accessories as well. Two black escrima sticks that are just a remold of Daredevil’s billy club, but that’s fine. A skateboard that he can stand on. I kind of wish there was a peg on the skateboard, but the figure is balanced enough to stand on it. There also all kinds of scratches on the skateboard, because in the comic, he would use it as a shield. And finally, a harness that holds the skateboard and the escrima sticks.  The harness plugs easily into his back. It’s also designed not to hamper the wide range of motion you get with all Marvel Legends.

I did notice one thing about the figure that confused me. Besides the two holes in his back to plug the harness in, there are also two holes near his neck. I’m not that familiar with all the Marvel Legend’s body types, so I can only assume this was used for a previously produced figure. This far from a deal breaker.

Night Thrasher also comes with Kingpin’s left leg for the BAF piece.

This is an awesome figure. So including a previously released Nova, we have two members of the New Warriors in figure form. Hopefully, we will see the others soon. Hint, hint Hasbro!
