Black Lightning, Signal, Orphan, and Katana what a team up!
Batman loves an underdog, each Outsider is just that little bit damaged and in need of help, I think Batman picks his team from those who can help each other get better but lets them figure it out by themselves (annoying).
The team is not really working together smoothly yet and each member is still struggling to find their place amongst it, they are all used to working alone and being their own boss so may find it difficult taking orders. Black lightning has his work cut out for him but seems to be up for the challenge and definitely seems to be match enough for Batman keeping him accountable without overstepping.
This was a brilliant first issue, it set up the situation perfectly, spent just enough time on each character to give us a feel for each of them and I’m sure each will get more attention as the series goes on as all of them have a story to tell about how they came to be an Outsider. There are some big name baddies being mentioned already and its just issue 1 so we know how a big a danger it is that Sofia faces but can the Outsiders reach her in time to make a difference and will they connect enough with each other to be able to defeat one of the baddest Dc villains around? I can’t wait to find out
