You know the old rhyme…April showers bring May flowers, right? Blah, blah, blah. Nuts to the flowers. More importantly, what does April really bring? The really best part? The reason we all suffered through this long, miserable winter?!?!?
It’s Previews!
Flash #32: DC Comics. We’re getting closer. Closer and closer to Wally West coming back. Right? He’s still coming back, right? DC hasn’t cancelled or postponed this book yet, right? Please?!?!?
Superman #32: DC Comics. I’m not a big fan of Romita’s art. It works for some things, but for Superman? I don’t know. I just don’t see it. Especially after the likes of Jim Lee and Kenneth Rocafort pulling art duties recently on the Man of Steel. Who knows, though. Here’s hoping that he and Geoff Johns can breathe a lil magic into this lull of steel (see what I did there?!?!?).
American Vampire: Second Cycle #4: DC Comics. I gotta admit here, I didn’t read the original run of this book. Vampires. Ugh. How many more vampires do we really need for mercy’s sake?!? But, I picked up this book to see what the big deal was. To see why everyone got their panties all in a bunch over this title. And, it’s not bad. Well, let me say, the Second Cycle isn’t bad. I don’t know how the original run is/was. But, if this keeps me interested, I’ll definitely pick up the trade.
Supergirl/Batgirl/Nightwing/Red Robin: DC Collectibles. Shut up and take my hundred dollars, DC Collectibles!
Batman Li’l Gotham figures: DC Collectibles. For real?!?! DC Collectibles, again? Fine. Just take the rest of my wallet, why don’t you?!?!?
The Wicked + The Divine #1: Image Comics. Now, this…this was an interesting solict in Previews. I don’t know the first thing about this book. And mama always said you can’t judge a book by it’s cover (no she didn’t), but…man! I am intrigued! At least for the first issue.
Manhattan Projects #21: Image Comics. I love the Manhattan Projects! I say it loud. I say it proud. But, man! It feels like they’ve been all over the place the last few issues. And…we’re finally gonna find out what happened to Laika the dog, before all the crap went down…whoops! Have I said too much?!?!?
Saga #20: Image Comics. As a comic book reader, I’m contractually obligated to read Saga. But, why include it on the list? The solicit: “Something terrible happens.” Classic.
Oz: Age of Darkness: Zenescope. All the beautiful girls are in Zenescope Comics. What can I say? I’m judging this book by the cover. And getting it!
DC Bombshells Calendar: Love the Bombshells. Love everything about them. Except the Poison Ivy statue I mean, it’s ok. Think they just could’ve done something a little bit better with her, but whatever. Still awesome. And anything Bombshells related? Put me down for 10!
Starfire Bishoujo Statue: Kotobukiya. I don’t even know how to say “Bishoujo”, but this statue? Oh my! I saw this at Toy Fair and as a big fan of Starfire (like you aren’t either, pervs), this statue is on my list!
WTF Product of the Month: Lightsaber tongs. I mean…c’mon. When does it end? Actually, where does it end? I realize that Disney now owns Star Wars, but this? This has got Lucas’ stank all over it.
Don’t forget to check out the show everyone would be talking about. If they had nothing else to talk about…
