TV Review: Supergirl (CW)

Supergirl started as a show that it was never intended to be a typical CW superhero show.

Sure it had a lot of the same vibe as shows like Arrow and Flash but it still had that specific CBS television show feel. Making the leap to CW, Supergirl maintains its incredible level of character and heart while still finding a way to jive with the current Arrow-verse.

Surprisingly, even with a lower budget, the show still keeps most of its cast intact while adding several new stars. The acting in this show is better than most. And the chemistry between characters feels natural. I what I love about this show is that it’s not afraid to be a superhero show. It’s unapologetic about costumes and superpowers. At one point they even make a very clever joke about how superman sometimes just has whatever power he needs at the time. And while we’re on the topic of superman he’s introduced so smoothly to the show that he feels like he’s always been there. I look forward to seeing more superman in a supporting role in the coming season.

The show feels like it’s going to be an exciting season as super girl and her support team go after aliens men in black style. I’m all in! I give the premiere 5 out of 5!
