Shadow’s life is still spiraling downhill this issue and only really gets worse by the end.
Not only has his wife died but now he finds out his best mate and future employer has died in the same crash. He really has no other choice than to take up Mr. Wednesdays offer of employment but Shadow has some terms of his own.
While discussing terms and sealing the deal with mean Mr. Wednesday and shadow are met by Mad Sweeney a 7ft tall Leprechaun who is just itching for a fight. Eventually, he convinces Shadow to duel and gets knocked out for his trouble but he has peaked shadows interest with a nifty coin trick.
Shadow wakes up in the back seat of a car and doesn’t remember anything else after the fight but Mr. Wednesday assures him he had a good night. Shadow is definitely realizing that Mr. Wednesday is a bit of a conman but he needs the work.
At Laura’s funeral, he yet again gets more bad news and another shock discovery, it just keeps getting worse for him as even after he lays her to rest more bad luck falls on him as he is kidnapped by a mysterious bad guy with a message from Mr. Wednesday! Is Shadow in over his head, we will just have to wait and see
