Stannis Baratheon is plotting his ascension to the Iron Throne but first, he needs counsel!
Ser Davos has been trying to stir up some allegiances but to no avail, either the Lords are loyal to Stannis’s brother Renly or won’t lower themselves to meet with such a lowly knight as Ser Davos who became a knight only after years of being a smuggler and is not highborn like other Knights.
Maester Cresson also tries to reason with Stannis to ally himself with his brother to rule the kingdom and defeat their enemies but not only is Stannis stubborn he is also heavily under the influence of Melis Andre the red woman and priestess of the Lord o Light and her predictions guide Stannis much more easily than an ageing Maester and onion knight ever could. Maester Cresson takes extreme measures to rid Stannis of the Red Woman but doesn’t really go to plan and could strengthen her hold over him.
Really cool issue with the ominous comet overhead foretelling all kinds of omens and outcomes. The determination of Stannis really shows as he disregards any negative or ‘weaker’ counsel to recklessly follow Melisandres advice no matter who much the odds are stack against him
