The newest old-school cartoon to be reimagined for a modern time! And before we go any further I just want to say, calling the first issue exit stage left was a stroke of genius!
I think Snagglepuss could be the Steve Buscemi of cartoons, brilliant whenever you see him but unfortunately doesn’t jump out past some bigger characters so can get a little lost to the ages, so its great to see him in a new comic and what a comic. Full of twists and reveals (OK one we already totally knew) and one dark twist in particular that I did not see coming that really shines a light onto society.
I love how anthropomorphic animals are interspersed alongside humans through the story as if it were the norm but homosexuality is still frowned upon. Huckleberry Hound is another awesome addition to the story and I hope he continues to be a part of it.
Underneath the awesomeness of revisiting childhood characters, the story actually touches on some properly hardcore issues facing people in society and it’s going to get worse for Snagglepuss as he seems to be a target for the powers that be!
