Welcome back to the world of giant robots fighting giant monsters. But does it live up to the first movie?

Yes, it does and it’s even better than the first. There are more Jaegers in the movie and even an evil Jaeger. The story is about Jake Pentecost (son of the hero from the first movie) who is now stealing parts and selling them on the black market. He runs into Amara a 15-year-old who builds her own Jaeger. Thru a series of events, the 2 are recruited into the program to battle a new threat.

I really liked the fact that this movie is faster pace and added new version of Jaegers. And the Mega Kaiju is well worth the wait. The action was great, the special effects were awesome and the story was perfect. The Bonus features are Deleted scenes (which has a few of them), Hall of Heroes ( which talks about the new recruits ), Bridge to Uprising (the director talks about how the movie), Becoming Cadets (we get a behind scenes with the new generation of Jaeger pilots), Unexpected Villain (we get a glimpse to the new villain of the series), Next Level Jaegers (how the special effects team setup and created the new Jaegers), I am Scrapper (how a little Jaeger was created), Going Mega (how the special effects team came up with the new Kaiju), Secrets of Shao (a look at the company in Pacific Rim Uprising) and Mako Returns (a talk about the adopted daughter of Stacker Pentecost). All have Director Commentary.
